Excellent pics, bud! I've seen a lot of those down by Cotapaxi (center of everything) and over by Georgetown they sometimes get out on I-70 so you gotta watch. I find a lot of stuff over here but don't post them, as I figure you see one pic of a bunch of clad and a bunch of square nails you've seen them all. Keystone opens today, take care dude!

Thanks for the compliments all. I put a lot of time and effort into chasin critters and such. Wife thinks I'm nuts for getting up at 4 am on a work day and earlier on weekends.

Looks like it eh? Actually it's called curling. From what I understand when curious they not only smell you but try to taste the scent in the air. Not sure but it's what I've heard.

Man, I used to really look forward to the mountain opening. Now I'm older, sorer, and warmer. I wish I'd gotten into cameras back then I remember seeing the rocky mountain variety anywhere from Idaho Springs up to just past Silver Plume. When I moved up there I had to live in Georgetown and had to commute because of no housing in the winter in Summit County. Lived in those apartments just west of the lake. Great for the races and ice fishing but the daily drive, well......

Come summer I was able to move into the county

They're all just beautiful, Grafixwild!
The third picture kinda looks 3D.
What kind of camera do you use? Do you have a high powered zoom lens?
Thanks for sharing! :hello:

I had to look back to see which camera. It was taken with a Canon XTI. I was within about 20 yards with a 100-400mm lens maxed out at 400. The 3-d look is due to how close they were and an aperture, in this case f/8 to bring what's important into focus and blur the rest. I don't know if that makes proper sense but that's the only way I know how to describe it.

On a side note, people see bigger lenses and immediatly think telescope type magnification. Not true. Here's an example, ya got Monday Night Football and the field's 100 yards long. Most of those long white lenses you see (which are the cream of the crop) are fixed 400mm L lenses and I don't think a single shot in any sports magazine is taken at 100 yards at field level.
