Has anybody tried the Desert Gold?
It is on trial here in Australia but I have not heard any reports yet.
Has a camel on the control panel so maybe it was designed for the Sudan

A unit was supposed to be made available for testing from the Importer up here in NQ but have so far failed to appear.

Perhaps contact Australian Importer Jack Lange or Tassie Jack for more info.

Saw "the mouthpiece" obtained one and gave it a bad wrap because he could not work it, probably failed again to comprehend the English translated user manual as it wasn't written in American/English.

Oh we worked it all right...we tried for days and spent hours wasting our time with the "technical" guy over in Italy.
Hey - go ahead and get one..so you can comment from some experience and not from your ---............

Looks like the Manufacturer of DESERTGOLD are wise and will choose their own Importer/Distributor one with integrity........just like Detech and Blisstool did........good for them..........even better for us customers.

The youtube vids donot demonstrate it very well but it does seem to be very sensitive and I believe it is a silent search unit so it will be ineresting to hear what Jack thinks of it after trials.
Silent search units can be quiet in high iron minerals but insensitive to small gold as a result.
If it was designed for the Sudan gold fields then it will probably be good over there and sell well as a gold detector. it is supposed to be a quite capable beach detector as well in which case I might be interested although with an approx 1400 Aussie dollar tag it has some very good cheaper detectors to compete with. In any case we could do with a new kid on the block over here to shake the competition up a bit.

So far there have been No negative comments on the Desert Gold over on this side...........not even a sus/dicey promo video clip by the Importer............and thank's for the pointer to Detech detectors, just received a newsletter from Kellyco with heaps of specials including the Detech EDS.
