A friend just came back from a lake beach and told me that she had problems with black sand. I have a White's classic ID and was wondering if anyone has used this or know if the discrimination can be adjusted so I don't get a constant tone. I'm heading to Nags Head next week and I know there is plenty of black sand.

I do not think you will have any problem with your detector in the dry sand but you will have a hard time in the wet stuff good luck. Ands stay off of the national sea shore are with it.
