Detecting The Beaches in The South Of France.

Hello

Hopefully someone can be of assistance my question does metal detecting take place on the beaches in the South of France I will be staying in Nice for a few months and I would like to use my detector on the beach while I am there I realize that some beaches will be linked to hotels so will be out of bounds however there should be public beaches where detecting takes place.

Any information would be gratefully received.
