I sold all three of my yaks after I got married. The only thing I can say is take a water machine. My skirts were in like new shape but still I got wet. Sometimes without doing tricks or anthing I got an inch +/- in the boat. So I would always plan to get wet. C ya. Good luck.

Do a good bit of paddling. All open deck canoeing. Nothing much more than riffles around here unless you go over a dam. I often take my CZ-20 along and get out and check the rock gardens in the low water season. I also take my CZ-7 along, but that's only splash proof, not submersible so I would'nt risk it in fast water unless it's wrapped tight.

I took mine up a river. Left it in a case (not put together until I got there) and wrapped it with two plastic garbage bags. Tied the handle to the gunwales of the boat with a rope to make sure it the canoe tipped I would not lose my detector. We almost did flip once, but avoided it by going back down stream.
