Had an hour tonight, went back to where I found the 1867 IH last night. I've always kept my silencer setting at -1, but I've read that turning it up to 0 or +1 won't hurt the separation or depth in iron infested areas. I bumped it up to 0 the last few hunts and maybe it helped.

I got a very poor yet hopeful signal and amongst the load of crap came this 1904 fishscale. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1469236620.373645.jpg

All this came from the hole with the silver coin! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1469236703.287794.jpg

The little curling rock is super small, it was hard to find in the dirt, but I knew something was there. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1469236802.259043.jpg

It was a fun hour tonight! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1469236848.204302.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1469236871.746174.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1469236894.357749.jpg

Congratulations. Great job pulling the silver out of that mess. Like the curling stone. My favorite winter sport.

Very nice finds. The persistence paid off. I think I would have given up after pulling half of that wire out of the hole.

The curling stone was a surprise, at first I thought it was just a melty blob. Must have been part of a pin. I like curling as well, and it's crazy that I have never tried it! Thanks tom

Thanks vferrari. This is the location that had me posting questions on the Deus forum about maximizing iron separation. It's such a productive spot, but it can me maddening.

The long wire ran through the hole in with the majority stretching several feet in either direction. I almost did give up!

The unknown coin appears to have a likeness of Lady Liberty and 13 stars. I can't make out the date.
The Statue of Liberty was dedicated
October 28, 1886.. Do you think it might be a commemorative coin or token?

Ok here a shot of both sides. It's not a coin unfortunately, and looks to have a small oval on the back where something was attached. Maybe it was a button or stud to decorate clothing, or perhaps something leather like an old wallet or belt. Possibly a really old play coin? ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1469315032.056540.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1469315057.264535.jpg

It's smaller than a halfdime, paper thin, and I think the date is 1901. Anybody seen this type of thing before?

Really, really cool find. I'm not sure; could it be from a button or jewelry?

The Deus will find some tiny targets extremely well, took me a long time to be able to tell the tiny from the coin size.
Is that (fishscale) a Dime or a Half Dime? Or is it a Nickle?
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa lol
Great finds!
