DFX help

Hello All,
I am very new to MD'ing. I purchased a DFX and need some help. I bought the book/DVD and still kind of clueless. Any help would be wonderful.

Major Issues:
Pinpointing
Depth
Descrimination

I am more of a lurker here, but I love this site. So many great people w/ so much expertise.
