Did i find my first large cent???

Pulled from my backyard at about 5-6 inchs. It Looks like its copper but i dont have any large cent for a size comparison so I hope the quarter helps. ANY info would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

When I find coins that I'm not sure of I measure them an LC will be 28-29 mm check it out..

I measured it and sure enough it's 28-29!!! I knew right when I pulled it what it was I just wanted to make sure. It kinda sucks that It's toasted but it's no doubt my oldest coin yet in this my second season of MDing so needless to say I'm excited!!!!

How do I warm peroxide? Sounds like a fire to me lol

Just heat a small bowl of it in the microwave almost to the boiling point and drop your LC in. Will look like alka seltzer bubbling!

You sure putting peroxide in the microwave is ok?

Yes sir. We are talking over the counter everyday hydrogen peroxide in the brown bottle, lol. I have used this method many times.

Warm peroxide should clean it up a bit, maybe too far gone but still cool and still a lc! Congrats

You could try the peroxide but she's pretty far gone. What details were there are now most likely part of that crust. Count it as a win and find that next one.
