That's the right size!

Definitely looks the right size to me to. Congratulations! To bad it's a mess.

When I find coins that I'm not sure of I measure them an LC will be 28-29 mm check it out..

I measured it and sure enough it's 28-29!!! I knew right when I pulled it what it was I just wanted to make sure. It kinda sucks that It's toasted but it's no doubt my oldest coin yet in this my second season of MDing so needless to say I'm excited!!!!

Nice, congrats on your first LC, toasted or not you still got one...

Since its toasted perhaps there would be nothing to lose in trying the warm peroxide soak to see if you can get a type or
any details at all ?

How do I warm peroxide? Sounds like a fire to me lol

Just heat a small bowl of it in the microwave almost to the boiling point and drop your LC in. Will look like alka seltzer bubbling!

You sure putting peroxide in the microwave is ok?

Yes sir. We are talking over the counter everyday hydrogen peroxide in the brown bottle, lol. I have used this method many times.

If you think this sounds dangerous, you don't even want to know about a home made electrolysis setup, lol!

Lol I am sure I don't but ok I will try it. Thanks for the advice and I see your in NEPA as well maybe we can meet up for a hunt sometime and save some history together.

Sounds good. I am south of Wilkes-Barre but still in Luzerne County.

Cool I am in Kingston but will go just about anywhere for a good hunt. HH

I'd bet there's one under all that crust

Warm peroxide should clean it up a bit, maybe too far gone but still cool and still a lc! Congrats

Since it's toasted try ammonia

Sent from my SCH-S738C using TreasureNet in the middle of a field somewhere

You could try the peroxide but she's pretty far gone. What details were there are now most likely part of that crust. Count it as a win and find that next one.

Also from NEPA. From Cresco in the Poconos.
