isn’t water tight on the tip?

Ever sense people started talking about the Harbor Freight
electronic pin pointer for $15, I’ve been looking for one. They
never have them or the tumblers in stock.

Well, today they had the pin pointer in stock. I got one to have
for a back up. Hopping it would work.

I used it at a wood chip tot lot today. It seemed to work OK,
but not as good as my Tiny Tec. But it will do for a back-up.

I got the tip dirty and went to scoop the dirt off and almost
pulled the end out far enough to break the wires inside.

Look what happened!!!!!!!

Fortunately, I didn’t rip the wires out and it still works.

Here’s my remedy. It will make the tip water tight also.

When my parents had something they wanted to test out to see if it would hold up,
they would always give it to me or my nephew. We were close in age, and we were
hell on everything we touched. BUT, if it would withstand a day or so with us, it would
be put in the "Very Sturdy and Worthy of Future Purchases and could be Recommended
to Others" list.
Some people are just really tough on everything they buy. They don't
have the "I didn't pay much for it so I better take it easy with it" gene.
People that don't adjust well to what they are using should stay away from the less expensive
items and go for the "built tough", "lifetime warranty", "virtually indestructable" items.
Craftsman as opposed to Stanley, if you get my drift...
I think most people on here would agree we are more in the Craftsman and not so much Stanley
list.
I'm buying some Stick and Seal for mine TODAY!

I wonder about Plasti Dip. Gives it a rubberized coating and you can get it in a bright color like yellow for easier visibility in case you have to go back for it.

If there is anything that needs to stay together I can manage to break it! I think I will try that black liquid tape stuff you can use on electrical wires.
