Digital Calipers

I have the General UltraTech No. 1433 digital calipers right now and have used them many times without any problems. But, when I turned them on tonight the digital display went crazy. I cannot get a digital reading. So, I am in the market for a good caliper. Does anyone here have any suggestions?

Change the battery before you purchase a new one. I have had this same problem in the past at work and changing the battery worked.

Non digital(dial)-Mitutoyo-Starrett-Etalon

LED does not display on my General unless I squeeze the display.. China junk, using my 40 year old Swiss made dial caliper..

Mitutoyo or Starrett dials. I use both digital and dial, but the 12" Dial Mitutoyo's most of the time. I've been using the same pair since 1995
