Got out with some of the Brigade this weekend and did a little swinging.BBoy lost his wing nut.. :tongue3: and had to have mc gyver hook him up with some zip ties.way to go Rodeo for bringing the hardware store.Lots of swinging took place but the finds were meager.I found a possible Rosette, I can see it had some silver plating on it.The bell was found late in the hunt and BBoy believes it to be tombac versus pewter.Had a great time hunting this weekend and hope to get out again soon.

Dig it all !!!

Nice work, HB!

That lighting doesn't really do the color of the bell justice...it almost looks brass there...

But it is Certainly gun-metal-shiny.

Hope it can happen again soon  Yeah, I don't know what I'd have done without Rodeo for the zip ties. Those plastic wing nuts are a needle in a haystack in the woods! I'd have been walking back and forth to the car for the other machine--and quite a hike!

Keep me posted on going this upcoming Tuesday. Hopefully we'll get Kindabrokehisneck to go with us. ;D

HB--I just got my October W&E Treasures magazine, and there is a bell similar to the one you found on page 35. In the article it is described as a "pewter school bell"--but it is clear that the metal isn't pewter, but rather Tombac like yours.

Just thought I'd let ya know.

I'm sorry to hear about BuckleBoy losing a wing nut. :D

Billy, that bell is pretty cool looking. It looks to be coppa era!

Here's to finding handfuls of coppas this fall, Brigade members! :occasion14:

Thanks, buddy! That bell is most Certainly Coppa-Era. House was gone well before 1900.

I'm twist-tied together, and will probably stay that way for a few hunts, till I get my new nut. :D
