Amazing!

When I was down there last year, waiting on the ferry, I talked to a lady that lived there. She said as kids, she and her brothers spent their days finding all kinds of relics from that era just laying on top of the ground. And that they really didn't have any idea of the importance of the items they were finding at the time. :o

My grandfather told me the same about Spanish Fort and Blakeley. He said after a heavey rain the musketballs would be on top of the ground by the thousands. They would spend time skipping them into the river :o.

I wish as a young kid I would have paid attention to the places he knew about. When he passed away those spots went with him. I guess it is a good thing we can't turn back time.
