Hello everyone,

A friend of mine and myself always has good ideas of where to detect, however we are not sure if there are legal. I have been told that all the city parks are ok. ( We live in Mobile) I also have the understanding we can detect the water ways as long as we are where the normal high tide line is. Once out of that line you are on private land again. We have so many questions and need help so that we do not end up in trouble. Thank you for all the information that you can give us.

I live in Baldwin County, AL. There is a lot of Federal land over here and you have to be careful. The high tide mark does not apply to parks like Fort Morgan, Gaines, Blakeley, etc. The Baldwin County Tax Map Viewer is better than Google and it helps you find the owner of the property. Mobile County does not have a Sat view.

Good Luck.
