Discussions on "Just talkin' bout CRH for IL forum"

This is where we can talk about the forum we use to talk about the coin roll hunting forum. Forum cubed.

Maybe if this topic is hot enough we can create a forum for the forum regarding Discussions on "Just talkin' bout CRH for IL forum" forum.

And we can submit our poetry too.

I'll start:

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Sugar is sweet
and so is this forum.

Shermanville, hope you can at least crack a smile here!

twistidd,
"Shermanville, hope you can at least crack a smile here!"

always ;D
me.

Smile because it’s contagious
Smile because it’s healing
Smile because it makes people wonder
What you’re thinking.

Smile affectionately to show your love
Smile smugly as you’ve done your work.
Smile pleadingly to get what you want
Smile forgivingly to pardon the jerk.

Smile because you’re confused
Smile because you’re lost without a plan.
Smile because you want to
And smile just because you can!

all have a good un.....

L & N at the Depot in Broughton

An eerie silence hangs aloft Where the L&N once ran, The sleek black coaches pulled by steam Will never run again.

The tracks where once her drivers ran are now in disarray, No more we'll hear her whistle "wail" At the crossings on the way.

Or see her travel through the night, Her head light gleaming bright, As she hauled her freight and passengers Through a dark and lonely night.

She ran through farms and villages, Up wooded hills and down, While a fireman fed the engine coal On the way to Shawneetown.

Her last run gave the passengers a shock and fright, her precious cargo of silver and gold once tight, burst out with a crash on the tracks at night.

One by one the men and women dove for greed, thoughts of treasure for free would pay their deeds, but their heads burst on the tracks to bleed.

The magic of the old L&N ceased to weave, once her riders haunted by ghosts believed, their gold fillings would be stolen in the midst of eve.

Re: Discussions on "Just talkin' bout CRH for IL forum"

Thank you Mr. Shermanville,

Old Lady Clara would call me to her yard to pick up and clean when I passed it as a youngster. Something unheard of these days to be sure. When done with her yardwork, she have me in for cookies and milk.
She must have been a hundred years old then, and she'd read such things to me. Sometimes hours would pass and no amber alert. No neighborhood search for me then. And unaware of the need for such things I could ponder her words, another's thoughts skillfully rendered by the ancient one. Then ask for more cookies.

But no more cookies were forthcoming. Only more words. I was only 5 or 6 years old and as sunset over the fen, I'd return, Grandpa, Heinrich Reichart Harberts. Sitting under the pair tree with a quart bottle in his hand. 50 years on the CNW, a home built of left over lumber from boxcars and sitting on cinder blocks.

He's handing me his large knife and telling me to get a willow branch, I forgot to feed the chickens again. His ability to cuss with his native Hamburg affect was a stunning combination for the striking blows from the four foot long willow branch.

Erhalten Sie die Zufuhr vom auto! Gekommen mit mir!

Ah, your posts always take me back....

Great Grandpa Lowbatts feeds his chickens downstate. Lowbatts was the short one in front of that old Woody. That cottonwood came down on the roof, pinning us in during the tornado outbreak of '67. Kept us from ending up in the swamp back in the woods I 'spose.

Re: Discussions on "Just talkin' bout CRH for IL forum"

Geez, you're too quick for me Mr. Shermanville.
Brother and I, when not fighting would throw a basketball at each other and bounce it off the house next to Grandma's window. One day Grandpa, after beating us over it one too many times just said, "I hope I die before you break that window."
Came home from school next day, brother bounced the ball and it went through the window. Fear and trepidations abounding, we entered the house, to find Grandpa dead on the toilet.

Boy oh boy were the rest of the folks mad at us.

Re: Discussions on "Just talkin' bout CRH for IL forum"

Known a few who passed away while going. Not an uncommon thing. Aortic dissection, parasympathetic nerve response, or failure to make sure the seat was down can all brng on bad times and in some cases, end one's time.

Edward II, George II and Catherine the Great all it seems found the seat their final rest stop.

Toilet training is one of the most common causes of young boys getting their first case of clap. That's clap as in the seat falling while they're leaning themselves into the leaky position.

Oh yeah, that throne can have thorns.

So why do they constantly try to revive the prairie?

It's gone. See it there, nope. Corn and beans.

Along it's edges they vainly plant weeds long gone.

Turn it all to mulberries and apples I say.

Broke an intruders leg in several places with an old Mulberry club still hanging on my wall after 30 years.
