could be tellurides of gold and silver, could be galena with a high silver content
I like to save anything heavy like that and do some more testing later on.
maybe crush it and look at it under magnification at least 30x

I collected a bunch like that a while back and tried to melt it, my propane torch was not enough to melt it.
There are lots of things that a propane torch can not melt, platinum is one.
I ended up losing the whole batch somewhere though. :(

I save all my heavies... dont know what Im going to do with them but I save them anyhow :)

Thanks for your thoughts.. I will crush and post back...

Tried a scratch test and didnt leave a mark... compared it to a lump of Galena... didnt look the same (yes I know thats -ahem- a basic test)... then tested with a magnet... its magnetic. So could it be magnetite? or some kind of haematite?ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1465919979.542874.jpg

If it's magnetic then as far as I'm concerned it's called Leaverite. :tongue3:
