Or....as a result of quarry manufacturing? Found on forest trail-but the site was an old indian occupation site from the 1200's.
Just trying to figure out if this shows human workmanship....

What you are showing does look like it's been knapped by man, JMO what you have is what waste comes from making stone tools. Keep looking in that area and you may find a nice artifact. What you have found to me is an artifact, just not a well used tool. Chips are just as old as the point or what ever they where making , and some times used has a tool themselves.
