Short hunt today.........just a few coins, mostly wheats.......7 of 'em. 4 x 1941, 1957, 1957 D and one unreadable.

The keepers are interesting...........

The copper coin with the Roman numeral 2 disintegrated as it came out of the hole. The other side is toasted. Haven't figured out what it may be. The other piece is a 1917 Lycoming County, PA dog tax paid (#224) dog tag.......

Thanks for lookin' in and best to you all on your hunting adventures..............

Congratualtions on the productive hunt! :occasion14:

I love the Dog tax tag!

Your copper tag is either a tool tag or a miners chit tag.

Good hunt!! The dog tag takes honors in my book.

I am a lover of the wheat cents. Congrats on a wonderful hunt!

Thanks, kingskid. I'm partial to the wheats, also. Unfortunately the 41s were pretty bad.........there's hope for the 57s...............

Sorta thought the same thing........too bad the top turned to dust. A hole there would have been a good clue to have.

I agree. Didn't have any clue what it was in the field. Couldn't read anything on it 'til it got a little home cleaning. It looked interesting, so it went in the finds pocket..........

Sweet lock love that old coin I am a farmer of wheats Silver for me is very hard to find Good job Thanks for sharing!!!!!

Great finds - love the dog tag! :occasion14:

Nice finds Chizzy, I am still looking for a dog tag as old as yours, my oldest is from the 1950's.

Thanks, LD........it's only my 2nd dog tag. The first was from the 80s, so this was a real treat to find!

I'm always happy to find wheat cents - it keeps the hope alive that some silver might be next. Congrats!

The Wheats have 'gone to the dogs'! Nice Hunt and cool tag.
