Relic Hunting
Managed a few hunts since the snow melted about 10 days ago. Nothing spectacular especially compared to what I got used to find while on the trip in Europe. I got to get used to the different context, no choice...

One of the finds was on my list for a while.

A cool relic made of brass in the form of bee hives.

Also managed to ID a strange relic I have found while on the trip to Europe in March. Wasn't sure what it was as the item was unlike anything I have found in the past.

It seemed to have a tiny glass eye. After cleaning it I managed to look into it and was surprised to discover some type of picture or tiny drawing of a naked women. Seems to be a 150 years old "peep show" relic... Let's just say I was extremely surprised... A very cool and unusual relic.

Killer old coin shooting and relic hunt! :notworthy:

Nice finds, the Ships Colonies and Commerce looks like one with choppy waves and maybe the flat ampersand. I think those are a bit harder to find.
That photo thing is great.

Fabulous Aureus, Congrats! That peeper looks to be very elegant. I wonder how it was carried? Watch fob maybe.

Best wishes!

Thanks Reanm8er. It could very well be a watch fob or a pipe tamper.

Look closely for any marks on the beehive and bees. Something is telling me that it is very rare.

I haven't seen any but sure looks like a strange and uncommon piece.

Thanks Doug from NS. I had no idea there were variants of that coin.

It is called a Stanhope Viewer. 1860's - 1920's.

Killer finds and half cent is still on my bucket list

That would be the beehive and bees piece not the peep show piece. Just to clarify :)

Lol, I hope so. Why the beehive piece, what were you planning to do with it?

She is an artist and loves bees, She will do something ridiculous with it. This is her work from clay and rock. Title? The Bee lady of course. IMG_2822.JPG Maybe a hat? Maybe a base? I have no idea But she keeps mentioning it.

Great & very interesting finds. Nice that you salvaged them from the "Dirt Bin" of history. I'm just guessing, but the brass bees & hive relic could possibly
be a garden spigot knob/handle, maybe with a center piece missing. Maybe the gardener was also a bee keeper. Old ornate brass is always cool to detect
out of the ground. Nice going. Cheers.

Great finds as usual. I’ve seen anything like that peep show piece. Congrats to you sir.

Beautiful sculpture. Bees and hives do resemble the ones on the relic I have found.

My Girl is in LOVE with it. If you want to sell it, PM me?

Cheers

No problem.
I'll send it to you for free, just cover the shipping. PM me your address.

WOW, Outstanding finds!!!! That Victorian viewer thing is SUPER COOL!
