Based on the rear design I can tell it's a draped bust but unfortunately the front is very corroded and I can't make out a year

Very nice find. I got my first one last week in NJ.

That's a tough coin to find.

Very well played sir!

Half cents are far rarer than LC coming out of the ground. Nice find.

Congratualtions on the 1/2 cent, not a very common coin to find! :notworthy:

In any condition, a half cent is a terrific keeper. Congrats.

I blew the reverse picture up, and from what I can tell it looks like you have the Stemless Wreath variety, which would make it 1804. I had the exact situation with my 1/2 Cent, and checked all coin books until my eyes bugged out. I finally realized that mine did not have the stems coming off the lower end of the wreath, just as yours seems to be. The only year they minted this variety was 1804. Congrats on a great coin.

If you're sharp and know what to look for, those "telltales" are great ways to narrow dateless coins.

To the OP - nice digs! Congrats
