Hi every one,

I live in w/c Illinois have a creek running over my place with lose sand gravel, hard pack s&g, clay, rock out croppings. I have some pics that I can post of the creek. I have found a lil color fine to fly poop!:BangHead: I built 2" Pvc nozzle great for what it is!:laughing7: I'm running a 3" X 3"/ 84'- 34.4 psi of head c/w pump necked down to 2". The nozzle I run at a little over halve throttle I will be going to a 3" tri-jet .

I have a question for you? I want to build a new 10 or 12 inch X 5 foot sluice box. But I would like to make it a over/under if it would work. I was thinking that the lower box would have carpet and raised expanded and run at 1.5/2" per ft the top box will have carpet and mod Clarkson's at 2-3" per ft. If the box was built in a wedge to get to right slope. would this work as a combo or not! or do I just run a 10-12" box in to the 20" box that I have now.

Thanxs for any and all info

I just built a 2 inch dredge with a 10 inch wide O/U sluice. I haven't had a chance to get it out this year yet because of all the flooding here in the mid-west. you DONT need a 5 foot long box! 4 foot long is plenty. I have several types of carpet(Veranda,Vortex and Gold Hog matting) to try in this setup. plus I made another 10 inch wide crashbox sluice to also try out these matts and to see which one works best for this fine gold in the Midwest!

I think trying to create an over/under at 2 different slopes is going to be very difficult to get flows correct if at all possible. If your going for fine gold/fly poop, I would probably concentrate on creating a classifier system that can get the material down to 1/4" and run it over the expanded/miners moss.

I have no problems with classifying from 1/2"- to 3/32"- if need be. I have 1/2" grizz & p/p from some pellet mills for feed that I can use. I was just trying to make a combo or all in one sluice but if it wont work Ill just go with two sluice box's one at 12" and the one 20" I have now.

Thanks for your time
