Good luck terry and may your pan be yellow. Yellow with lots of gold that is.....

Thanks guys,
Will take pics and will be posting on the run. Beav.... is this Randy? Waukesha county detecting is by (free) permit. Also says no hunting in water. Still will hook the boat to my truck when I return but what about water prohibition?? TTC

The wife and I stayed in Keystone SD the first of the week in June; on our way back from our week stay in the Colorado mountains; I was checking out a mining claim.
If you stop in Central City CO. stop by "Grubstaker's Colorado Gold Rush Store" and say high to [email protected] he has an open claim right down the road from the casino you can do some panning. Nice shop he has also.
Try some nugget shooting with the detector so you can give me some pointers if you get back before the snow starts flying.
My God Son started calling me Pan Head as a Harley joke.

Hey terry it's beav here. don't want to keep you guessing but my name isn't Randy. I was born and raised in kewaskum for 38 years. I just got back from up north where I did some metal detecting for about four hours rest of time was spent fishing. I came back home with 82 coins all clad and a nice bunch of fillets for the freezer. Have a good time out west and look forward to some pictures when you get back.

Make sure you stop at 'Little America' truckstop in Wyoming for a fried egg sandwich($4,but worth it).I think it's about exit 67/68,been awhile since I was there.Stay safe and hope you have a great vacation.

Sorry I didn't get o this one sooner, but I hope you read it coming back.

I like the Wyoming - Montana area.

More rocks than you can imagine, and many you can get to for free.

I got a copy of "Roadside Geology of Montana" and "Roadside Geology of Wyoming", and they will tell you where to stop and dig for garnets, amethysts, agates, etc.

You can also MD for nuggets in these states. Just look for tens of million year old creeks.

The Beav.....Sorry.... Just before you posted about finding coins on a sandbar, "Randy" suggested hooking his boat to my pickup.

Warsawdaddy.... Saw Little America go by but we were "scoot'n" so couldn't stop. BIG place now!

Bum Luck...... You need to hook up with TimC, my brother. He does that "rock stuff" with a passion. TTC
