Hi everybody! I haven't posted for months but it was a slow and dry summer here in Greece. Most of the known gold bearing rivers in my area are dry, so things are a bit slow.

I will prospect a dry river tomorrow, so I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of rocks are those. I'm finding a lot of quartz as well:

This is the kind of rock I find everywhere on the river. It's very soft and breaks easily.

This is how the river looks. It has a lot of bedrock and lot's of turns.

Do you think this river looks promising based on it's looks and on the rocks I'm finding?

cheers!

kinda resembles lead and silver sulfides and quite a bit of iron... rotting rhyolite perhaps?, have you tried sample panning the ground at all yet? that's your best bet if you want to know if theres gold potential.
