Actually found these Thursday
I went to Canadohta Lake yesterday for a couple hour hunt because I noticed earlier this week that the water level is real low, out beyond most of the docks. The area is pretty much made up of old run down cottages. There is a nice restaurant called the Frog Pond with a water slide that now ends in a mostly dry area. I tried to get permission to hunt at the end of the slide but was denied. I then searched a small public beach, maybe the only public beach on the lake. This isn't a beach like what you would imagine a beach to look like. Mostly grass to where the water normally would be, then about a 15 foot debris line of all kinds of stuff. Once you get to where the water is there is a very hard packed sandy base. You have to use a shovel to break through it and then it is soft underneath. With a group of ducks accompanying me (about the only residents there this time of the year), I was determined to dig everything. The search proved fruitful with two 10K gold wedding bands and a variety of other things. Any one who is interested in hunting this area should go now while the water level is low. Dress warm and where rubber gloves, the water is questionable in quality.
Merry Christmas to all
