"DUG A HUNDRED YEAR OLD DUMP AT GARDEN GULLY" LOTS OF KEEPERS

Hi all, just on sunset last nite i found a dump, which dates from 1858 to 1920.The dump area covers about 300 square feet and full of relics.Went back this morning and had a mega-dig by hand.this site may take a while to complete.Theres heeps of pics and finds.

Get yourself a section of mesh wire that has a hole pattern smaller than ¼” and sift the sift the site. .I have a site I have done this at and find much more that I had imagined. I took some 2x4s and made a 3’x4’ frame and place it on a wheel barrel. I sift the soil and when the wheel barrel is full I take it out of my digging area. This helps keep the dirt I have dug from mixing with the soil I will be digging. You can get the wire mesh at any farm and ranch supply store. You make the frame so the mesh is on the bottom of the wood frame and the 2x4 provides a 4” lip to retain the soil as you sift out the small material. I chose the ¼” as it will keep items the size of a cuff button.
