Dug a nice older Ring and some Clad

A couple of hrs on the beach dug some clad and then got a weak signal took out a couple of scoops and the dug down and got this nice old ring.

No. I am thinking its glass. Its red in color I haven't looked at in the sunlight My hardness tester is broken. Its a really old setting in sterling. The only marking on it is a 9 and that's the rings size? With 20 plus inches of snow coming tomorrow I not too sure there will be any sun to look at it.
