Dug for an hour or so in the rain in some urban parks. This find went into the trash pocket. Just now I took a look at my trash, thought this felt fairly heavy. Ran some water and toothbrushed it and saw 'sterling' on the back. It's prolly like 2" x 1"

Nice piece of silver. All my jewelry goes into my keepers until I get home and check them out closely.

Lol that's true. Has happened to me three times now that I found something good and thought it was trash. Dug what I thought was a regular nickel that turned out to be a war nickel. Also one of my first finds this summer was a buckle that I thought was trash that I've since learned is likely colonial. Lost somewhere in my house.
