when out to hunt a old dump with TX Yankee and found these military pin and a old bottle .does anyone know these pins and if seen this bottle before. Metal dog was cool too
I'm far from a button expert, but the one that says U.S. looks like somewhat modern military, such as WWII or newer. The bottle looks like a tiny version of old cermic jugs, such as what was once used for moonshine, among other uses. Cool finds!
Yes sir, you found a pair of lapel pins from a relatively modern (1930s-1950) army dress uniform.
The US Disc is worn on the opposite lapel as the branch insignia disc, yours belonging to a GI that served in the Coastal Artillery Corps.
The Coast Artillery Corps was realigned with Field Artillery and ultimately disbanded in 1950, after the threat of imminent attack by Japan/Germany subsided.
If it has to be a "modern" military find on US soil, you found a real keeper.
The dump site is pretty cool and there is a lot stuff to find I also found my very first silver coin ever, thanks to Texas Yankee g ir taking m email with him
