Personally, I doubt there are any accessible bottle dump sites in San Diego that are not buried under ten inches of concrete.
You might have better luck looking in Julian or Alpine or other mining towns (?) in the mountains to the east.

Thanks Don, I figured SD city was a no go, wasn't sure if maybe some special site still existed. Ever hear about any dumps along the railroad out near carrizo gorge? Or up near old town Temecula?

Matt , when I was stationed in SD in the late 70s and early 80s , I never found any dumps , but quite often found some BIM bots at low tide around shelter Island, and Sunset Cliffs.

I live in new England and have never been to Cali. But in my experience I would walk the rivers in the area . And it wouldn't hurt to pick up a nice spring steel probe.
