**the title should read “sniffs out”, not “our”

I went to an abandoned elementary school in the nearby foothills and detected the playground. Near the ball field I got a solid 12-06 on the E-Trac, which is typically a foil signal that I don’t dig. This signal though had a very solid sound to it so I decided to cut a plug.

At about four inches I pulled out a tiny gold ring. It’s marked 10K plumb with the initials GTB ot GTR. It weighs 1.7 grams and has a little diamond chip in the middle. It’s a nice reminder that the E-Trac has the ability to hit on small gold!

I've been out briefly a few times recently but haven't had much swinging time lately due to work. We need to link up again and get a hunt in.

When I read the title I thought it was sniffing out the gold below Friant I was ready to go buy one if that was the case.I like the looks of that ring.

Congrats! lad you decided to dig it. It just shows that those low conductor readings are not always foil!

Ha! Speaking of Friant, here is about three hours worth of recent panning at the broken bridge.

Not even close to being worth it for the pain that was in my back and knees at the end of it.

Beautiful ring find my friend, just goes to show that you shouldn't ignore even the slightest mid-tone signal. :occasion14:
