I can't seem to get a definitive answer from the what is it section on this button.
Hopefully the relic button guys can tell me if I have a modern Navy button.... or a common blazer button?

US NAVY Officers buttons were same design from 1852-1941 makes it hard to narrow down to being used during the war but the design was eagle on anchor with head to the right and upper fluke of the anchor behind the wing (source: http://www.history.n...rm_insignia.htm) might offer some help but this button could pre date 1852 seems like I've seen this design either 1812 or Spanish American war don't hold me to that though. No back mark is the only thing that leads me to say probably a blazer button. Good luck and interesting find!
