I found this today in Murfreesboro, TN. It's an eagle button but it's in bad shape. The back has writing on it. It reads: "PAT - ON PPO
BACK PEND"
Any ideas the age of this button?

Probably early 20th century civilian, but it's in really bad shape. Hard to see an eagle.

Sorry but absolutely not an eagle button (military button) from any US manufacturer. Not even sure it is a button...keep at it and you will certainly find one!

I would have to agree. It looks more like a "snap" then a button.
