I got out today for a couple of hours this afternoon. I've spent this awful winter stockpiling sites and I just had to get out. The ground wasn't too bad in spots and there wasn't too much snow cover. The first find came about 30 minutes in, and that was the 1864L Indian. My second indian of the year. The details are amazing, but it has some nasty corrosion. The next target was the Great Seal watch fob. The fob was really in some frozen ground. It was a tough recovery. The find of the day was the Civil War Officer Rifelman Button. It was basically on the surface. This is one I needed for the collection.

Not sure what the round item is. It was an eyeball find. I have found plenty of clay marbles but this is actually a perfect circle rock. No idea if it is native american or a rock fashioned into a marble.

Amazing and good looking patina. Love the "Riflemans" button. The round stone may just be natural if not of clay. Nice hunt glad you got out. Nice I.H also….
