Early Carpenter's Axe--How Early?

Found in Central Florida--was not too sure of style and age when originally found then have seen a few of these in Civil War relic groups. Have cleaned her up somewhat. One difference if significant is the depth of the nail pull area. This one appears shallow in depth compared to these CW era axes. Is this an early axe or one possibly bought in the ole hardware shop down the street after the First War sometime. Any help here much appreciated.

It's a hand forged shinglers axe. Circa 1870-- 1920's. I have found three here in Az. Neat finds.
