EARLY HAPPY THANKSGIVING FOR ME! After photo's of cannonball and Bayonet

Hi everyone,

I just thought I would post the finished product of the Bayonet and 12 lb Cannon Ball solid shot. They really came out great. ;D

I went out this morning to do a little relic hunting and to my amazement I pulled up a Civil War Napoleon 12 Pound solid shot cannon ball. :o :o Funny I should find this today because I went relic hunting the other day with Whippetdog and played a little joke on him by burying a piece of shrapnel to look like a whole cannon ball. :'( Then called him over to dig it. :'( :'( Wish he could had been out today to see this. ;D I cleaned it up a bit but will surely post it again when its finished. Thanks for looking and have a great Thanksgiving this week everyone!! ;D :D :o

I think you should change your screen name to "Artillery King"

Awesome find to add to your artillery collection. You have more than some museums. He really does, I have seen them. Since you have always been kind enough to let me hunt with you, maybe one day I will find one. I have found some schrapnel with you, just not the whole one yet.

Congrates that is a great find.

Great find! Cannonballs are a relic hunters dream! I have been lucky enough to find three of them and I look at them every day and wonder about the last person before me to touch them. A rush for sure. I would like to see your whole collection of them if you ever have time to post em. :)

Hi Birdman, I have a photo of my collection less 4 cannonballs that I have just dug and not yet cleaned or disarmed. In the last year I have now dug 17 whole pieces. I am in a really good location and just found a spotwith infinite signals. I hope to post the rest in a week or so. Your right it is a rush for sure..

That's an awesome collection and display Ronin. I'm surprised, after all the MDing of Civil War sites, that's there's still anything left! I have a couple of battle sites to detect myself, (One is from the battle of Knocknanus fought in 1647, the largest battle of the English Civil War fought on Irish soil) I've found musket balls but no cannon balls. I have done some research in the last year to see where the armies were camped and I'm heading back to those areas.
