Hi All !
Braved some of the worst driving I've encountered to find more buttons.
And I think I found a good one :hello2:
not the best condition, crusty with edge loss (darn that coarse gravel >:()
but identifiable and Early:
'United States 10th Regiment of Infantry officer's button 1798-1802'
Once again, no listing in Tice for these early buttons, anybody wanna trade for an Alberts :laughing7:
I found an image online for a 1st regiment that is similar.
Also dug some other items, What I think may be a lead filled button core,
a Barrel tap key, piece of brass encased in melted glass (most crumbled off while rinsing), brass door plate with 'horn' ? :dontknow:
and the lead 'JHS' piece with no holes or attachment points.
This was one COLD hunt, I was prepared for snow, but not the pelting rain that
came later, this was the last negative tide for this month, and I needed to get while the gettins good :icon_sunny:
Thanks for Looking and Happy Hunting to All

Nice finds there Herbie! :icon_thumright:
This piece's interesting . . . I wonder what it came from? :icon_scratch:

I'm going to hit the snow plowed hills at the mall again today, they've melted down quite a bit recently. The temps going to get up to 28F today, so it shouldn't kill my batteries like it did last time. I'll let you know if I find anything interesting! Probably not though! :laughing7:

Your "JHS" piece struck a chord in my memory. I found a similar looking piece with the drill holes approximately in the same locations and a sharp eyed TNET member on here pointed out that he had one also and it may be part of a horse carriage decoration.

Just adding a possible direction to search for info..

Great finds!!

Thanks for all your replies!
Black651, Great direction & very likely a correct ID, strangely the 'holes' are definitely not, just indents and no attachment points on rear.
modern auto emblems are applied with adhesive, so why not carriage plaques :dontknow:
