The beaches around Vero are pretty much deeply sanded in. On top of that, many of the beaches have just been 'renourished'.

Not much to be found until a storm churns up the coast.

But if you go out on the beach, you will be found by the the 'no see-ums' - they are out in force.

The treasure coast beach blog is recommending heading down to miami to hunt if you want to find gold.
