Yesterday I put in 8 hours of swinging the coil. My "Honey Hole " has given up 14 silvers in 5 hunts. It has sort of dried up so I figured I would try a few lawns just East of the old school.
Among my first targets was a Mercury dime and a Buffalo nickel. I was thinking, "Oh Yeah!"
Well, things went a little different after those two coins. I did manage another Buffalo nickel before the hunt was over. For the most part, the rest of the hunt was clad.
I find the CTX depth meter to be pretty accurate on deep coins, especially when they are around 7 inches or deeper. That fact had me focusing on wheat pennies rather than digging shallow memorials. But of course, that decision came after I recovered over 30 memorials. lol
