Up north for the Holiday weekend. Jumped in the lake for a bit today....what a beauty day. The shifting sands had uncovered some new...old goodies including several wheats , a merc , a no date buff , a couple pre 50 jeffersons. Also dug an old cufflink, a religious medallion , and a tiny pinback patd 1917.

young black bear.
Im putting the pinback on whatzit .....see if its anything ??

Got an answer on the pin....Modeled after Blue Star Service Flag....worn by parent of soldier...this one apparently during WWI.

On another note , the heavy chain and ring is a top chain off of a rail puller. One of those long wooden handled RR tools. The Leech pit was the termination point of a narrow guage logging train track. There are RR relics down there but were talkin like 2+ ft. This is one of those places where ...if you could take 8" of sand off of the top , you would be in 1800s heaven.

Great finds, and that bear skull's probably worth a few bucks. I would definitely have that on display!
