el radabob & rattlesnake keys

does anyone have any info. on el radabob and or rattlesnake keys? i heard that this was the location of some of the first permanent settlements in the upper keys; i am looking for where the settlements were on these keys; any early maps of these areas?

Just south of where you are looking, Rodriguez and Tavernier Keys were known as hangouts for wreckers waiting for a wreck. Just an anchorage without permanant settlement, I think. But I could easily be wrong.

Despite the Spanish-seeming name, El Radabob Key is actually an acronym made from the names of the people who donated it to the State Park.

there is an old foundation in the middle of old radabob .It can be accessed by kayaking largo sound and landing on the inside of radabob and to the north.
If you can, ask any of the bottlers ,they can pinpoint it better for you.
For older foundations,I would get a "back country permit" and enter the old missle site near ocean reef and walk south from there. along the shore line ,but on terra ferma. good luck! bring plenty of bug juice and a cell phone
