Congrats on the ring!

Looks real to me... any other markings besides 14k?

I'm going out on that shaky limb. I think it's real. I think it took a beating in that river. The emerald was chipped and it took some tumbling to do that. That and the emerald looks real. But I don't know. Jewery guy should know. Take it to a jeweler and find out. Either way, it's a cool ring...

AARC is correct. I was in the Jewelry business for 20 years. Very cool find. I would have liked to have found it :) Good for you!

I question lots of gold I find in Italy; man they will stamp stuff 14K and its plated. However I have found some items that looked pretty old like that and figured it to be plated until I took it home and tested it. Just test it or you will never know for sure. Looks like it found home for years at the bottom of a jetti and just got pounded.

But that just makes it look that much cooler to me.

Great Find,

Just an FYI for all.... They make a tool/stamp for all jewelry makers and craftsman. So for 14K in looks like a small punch with 14K on the end. You turn anything over, and with a small hammer, you hit it hard and it marks the item 14K or what ever stamp you choose. Many items are marked Gold that are not gold...
Be careful out there....
