Got out today and took the Eq. 800 relic hunting to a spot suspected to be a Yankee Cavalry day camp or picket post. Day started out slow as I am still getting used to the new machine. First target was in the old road bed and turned out to be a broken piece of spur. Not far away I found a quarter sized lead filled rosette or maybe a saddle decoration. After lunch two dropped Minies showed up, then nothing for a while. Later in the afternoon, a large target turned out to be a nice spill of Smith Carbine bullets, eight were recovered from one hole. Over all the Equinox didn't have any trouble finding relics and I think will even be better as I get some time in on it.

Looks like a good hunt. You and your new machine will get along great. Gotta give it a nick name to make the bond stronger..
