It took Minelab 3 weeks to have it back to me when I shipped 1 of mine off last time. Which was great cause last year it was 3 months.Treasure Hunter shipped his off recently and it was about a month before he got it back (I think).

I have learned to always have a spare. :laughing7:

I think the Minelab Sovereign GT is the Beach machine you may want to look at it.

yepper, my excal 2 is in the shop also.dont think they are going to fix it.may have to use it in paperweight mode i had 2 other excal 1000s and thats all they were good for.i owned 3 and none of them were any good and all i bought brand new!every other detector ive owned found way more gold than all of the excals put together.and i use any detector with the same determination as the next.they have to do something real special for me to even think about getting another minelab.

Ralph,

As you know I live in Venice as you do. I sent my Excalibur II to minelab for repairs about 4 weeks ago. Haven't gotten it back yet.

If they accidentally send it back to you - let me know.

Right before I sent the Excalibur in for repairs, I let a friend use my BeachHunter 300 during a visit, an upon return there was a problem with a cable connector, so I sent it in for repairs.

Which means at the moment, both detectors in for repairs, and only have the Ace 250 to detect with.

Not a problem as the rain is keeping me off the beaches anyway.

As far a good sand (and water) detector, I still vote for the BeachHunter 300.

Bill

It would seem that the repair folks must be going batty.
I wonder what the problem with quality control is anymore. It seems to be gone.

Oh well.
