Essex Motors Emblem (early 20th century)

Found (see photo) in field near main road in Maryland, probably off the front of the car or perhaps hubcap based on photos I've seen. Here's a link with more info. Any of the older folks ever drive one:-) I kid, I kid, but could have been a beat up old first car years later for someone now in his/her 70s. Says "Detroit USA" below 'Motors'; bit hard to read.

This is the car it would have come off of. Picture quality isn't very good because it was taken with an Kodak Instamatic way back in 1968.

If I am correct your Essex radiator logo was on their cars from 1918 to 1922, after that the name was bought out by Hudson Motor Co. and continued the Essex name until 1930. The radiator was changed with the Super Six lettering.
