Got my first gold ring today (half of one anyway).
Forecast was total crap but I went out anyway to an old standby spot that was recently "closed down" for hunting. I got creative and hunted another section that was recently cleared. Right next to a huge debris pile I dug my first gold ring. Yes, it is chopped in half but still 2.5 dwt. Looked far and wide for the rest of it. Dug every single signal within a 10 foot radius to no avail. I have a feeling it is somewhere under the huge debris pile right next to it. It started to rain and hard so I skipped out of there, went home, had lunch, and went back out to a 2nd spot. Dug a lone Indian Head and what I think is horse tack. Anyway, a good day!
