Even a slow day turned up silver.

Headed back to the Silver Dollar Lot this afternoon for a short hunt. Only dug a few holes, but was rewarded with the 1964 Rosie. It is the type of site where one day coins are everywhere and the next they are hard to come by. The other day my hunting buddy found a 1921 Morgan Dollar at a depth of around 23" deep. I'm just not into digging that far even for one of those. Too old and too tired.

Still a nice short hunt being rewarded with silver. Till next time. Happy Hunting !!!

Congrats on a good hunt and the silver Rosie.
With the way you and your friends are pounding that lot, something has to give.

I totally agree. With coins from 3" to over 20" It is a matter of hitting the right spot and depth. If it is over 12" deep, I probably won't be finding them. At 72 all that digging wears me out !! If I don't find any more I have had the hunts of a lifetime and am happy to have had the chance. Those young guys can dig to China and not wear out.
