Ever have a box you didn't want to end? -- Updated -- ***Pic heavy***

I've been on a halves skunk streak lately, at least 12 boxes (got discouraged and stopped keeping records). Picked up 2 boxes today, first I've done in 3 weeks. Opened the first box on the way home from the bank, didn't see any enders, so I didn't get into it. Later tonight I got out the second box, opened it - no enders in sight. Opened the first roll, and what do you know, there was an ender after all on the other side - an '84 proof. That roll had 3 proofs in it; seemed like a good sign.

It was.

2nd roll had an '88 proof. 4th roll had a '67 and an AU '65. Roll #6 had an '03 silver proof - my first ever! 30 of the the 50 rolls had something - either a proof, a silver, or an '87 NICF, or a combination of them. I believe this was a collection that was dumped somehow, though I never did find any error coins. :hello2:

final tally for Box 1:

1 x '64
2 x '65 (including 1 in near mint condition)
1 x '66
4 x '67
3 x '68
1 x '68S silver proof
5 x '69
1 x '69S silver proof
1 x 70D - my first!
1 x '03S silver proof

25 non-silver proofs
2 x '87P, 2 x '87D
21 x '02 - '11 NICF's (I don't keep them anymore, just kept track of them tonight)
a 1975 50 PTAS coin

Anybody know if the '68 and '69 proofs are 40% or 90%? They're so shiny, at first I thought they were chromed.

Very exciting box. Will post pics after Box #2. Wish me luck!

Awesome! The 68 and 69 proofs are 40% AFAIK. I know the feeling on those boxes that you want to go on forever.

I had a twelve-box String order of dimes from BOA a while back, was like Christmas as I was pulling Barber dimes and mercs left and right. Sad when they came to an end.

Awesome!!

Perhaps things are looking up for the roll hunters. Right now July seems to be a good month for silver finds.

Well, back to reality - the second box was your typical skunk. However, I'm holding out hope that the rest of the collection may be part of another box, as I hit silver on literally the first and last roll of the first box. As promised, here are the pictures. It was extremely difficult to get a good shot of the proofs - I must admit, I don't know how to take a picture of a mirrored background.

25 non-silver proofs! I would guess they were all in uncirculated condition before getting dumped into circulation, as some have minor scratches but a few are near perfect. :BangHead:

DSC04484.JPG The 4 '87 NIFC's. I should have mentioned that one of the proofs was an '87-S.

Front & back of the 50 Ptas coin. Not really worth anything, but kinda cool to pull.

DSC04476.JPG The lone silver proof, a 2003-S. Not in the best condition, but still a thrill to find!

These are the 2 90% coins, the '70-D, the '68-S and '69-S, and a '65 that had the same appearance as the other 2 40% coins. By this, I mean that all 3 had a mirror finish background, though not the frosted portrait. I don't know if this is significant in any way, just looks different - all 3 are in AU condition, at least.

And lastly, a little silver porn for you - now that's what I call getting a solid roll the hard way!
