I went back to the construction site today. The one where I found my "Promise Dollar Token". I must confess, I had visions of sugar plums dancing in my head all the way there! I was soooooo hoping that I would find something else there that might shed some light on the token. I hunted the whole site for a solid two hours. I got nothing, zip, nada, zilch! At least until I was on the way out and I found a new clad dime, lying on the parking lot! :dontknow: LOL

Well, not to be put down, I ambled over to my penny ante park. (that's what I call it now. :) )

I wandered around in there for a full 4.5 hours.

The over all:

Turned out to be a fun day after all.

I got one of those "trash can lid" hits and it rang up at a easy 90! It was basically right on the surface too! Just below the grass.

I saw this:

MEDAL1.jpg

I said, and I quote, whadifind ???
A plate? A lid to something? A manhole cover??

MEDAL2.jpg

Did they play football during the Civil War?

Buckle?

IMGA3419.JPG

Nope. A HUGE medallion celebrating some football event! :)
Kinda neat, huh.

Then, being Sunday and since I was in my "church".
Seemed only fitting that I should discover a bit of
religion.

The strange thing about this is that when I got it home and washed it off. I could see a beautiful face staring back at me.
But, when I went to take the picture, it wasn't there.

IMGA3420.JPG

I found that I can only see it when the piece is wet! LOL

IMGA3425.JPG

Now, about that wolf. I was bent down over my hole when I heard a noise.
I looked and there, staring me right in the eye, was a wolf!!!!

WOLF1.jpg

How would you like to have that staring back at ya?!?!

WOLF2.jpg

Was ok though, just a ring.

IMGA3421.JPG IMGA3422.JPG

I was hoping for at least silver, but, no, it does have a very heavy plating of some sort though.
And it appears to be crafted pretty well. Dontcha think? :)

Thanks for stopping by, hope it was enjoyable.

HH!

Actually, the closest scare I had was once when I looked up from my hole and I was face to face with two pit bulls. AND, I mean, FACE to FACE!

Turned out to be someone walking their dogs and I guess thought it was ok to allow their dogs to just walk right up to me. :dontknow:

A funny thing though, faster than I ever thought possible, I found that I had my knife up next to my throat, in a very strong position. If I had to, I suspect some doggie parts might've gone flying. LOL

I had to go home. Change my pants. ;)

There's one aspect of the ring that doesn't readily show in the previous pictures.

Fascinating hunt and story, thanks for the super pics! :icon_thumright: You can consider your wolf ring as a mighty protective token for the future! :laughing7:

The only wolf I've met close up was in a large run at a Virginia SPCA years ago, and he cared only to continue his obsessive racing around the perimeter of the run, waiting to be transported to a wilder location or zoo. He wanted no eye contact with humans. Have met bears fairly close-up & each time, we each kept a respectful distance, especially me, lol. Andi
