Ever stopped and then couldnt quite get started again?

Re: Ever stopped and then couldn't quite get started again?

Thank you all for your responses. I am not wallowing in self-pity here, I simply have lost the desire to get out and dig up trash.

I keep going over my finds and remembering how much fun Baldingboy and I had out hunting and that helps some, but it doesn't get me over the hump.

I guess maybe it's mid-life crisis time for this old man.

I appreciate everyone's responses and encouragement on this topic.

Broken legged Bull froggie: You have found out what many bikers do, that human flesh isn't designed to be a buffer between two metalic objects traveling at dfferent speeds in different directions. Actualy you are lucky that you sill have a leg.

I gave up on bikes when mine locked a chain at 35 +mph. Sigh

98 degree temps with 95 % humidity has been MY excuse so far. :laughing9: I have several places within walking distances of my house coupled with prior permission, but ohhhh man, that 98/95 combination has me grounded for now. ;D I'm thinking I'll put the big coil on my DeLeon and go for nothing shallower than 4 inches to cut down on the deep kneebends and have a 6 pack of cold Gatorade in the truck. Yep, that might get my engine started.

Hey Larry,
We have missed your posts!
I found a zipperpull this spring, and thought of you instantly.

I actually started MDing a few years ago after I had a broken leg, followed by blood clots, fell off a ladder, broke my hand and had to have it surgically reassembled, found out I had kidney cancer, had to have it surgically removed, and then had to spend a long time recovering. (From first break to last surgery was just under 6 months) While I was recovering I decided to get a detector and take up mding, since I had thought of it for years, but never got around to it.

Finding great sites can be done, just have to be creative and research historical docs.

I really hope you get back into it again. The hobby is the poorer without great guys like you out there taking pity on guys like BB, and just getting out there.

Wishing you all the best!
Mark

Re: Ever stopped and then couldn't quite get started again?

BE on the lookout tonight for a post in the vein of my old fashioned posts.

BB and I got out for a while and my finds were not STEALLAR but good but the time was fun and really like old times.

Glad to hear it! Good to know that you got out, even if it was with BB!

I will be watching!

All the best,
Mark

Wow Mark, it sounds like metal detecting is great therapy for you!

Happy Hunting!!!

Now, you're talkin'! Get out there and make a good find or two and you will be right back in "the feavor"! I know when I just don't feel like going out.......I sit and research. When I find some good information....it gets me excited again. Good luck and keep the coil o the soil!
