I don't have a SE, but gold rings can read any numbers depending on what metals are alloyed with.

A perfect nickel hit. One pixel above and in the center of the pinpoint "on" indicator.

Thanks

Near the last 45 minutes of my last hunt,
I Was so tired of can tabs, and sore from
getting up & down for 4 hours,
I passed up a few
till the next chance I get to hunt there.

We joked about it on the way home
that my luck, I Passed all the class rings
in those last few Minutes there :tongue3:

Got me to thinking what is the average area
for class rings.

I do know I'v found gold rings from nail to Quarter
depending on size, Karat & trash included in the hole

Always dig shallow nickels (2" or less). If the TID is steady, it's normally a nickel and sometimes a 10K ring. It's those 3 - 6" nickels I leave behind because the chances of pull tab trash go up greatly - seems to work for me anyway. It's a good way to hedge your bets.

Jeff it will depend on many things. Size of ring will effect it too. I have seen class rings hit as high as zinc pennies.
