my dad has and f4 and i am wondering if the dd coil from the f5 would work on his f4? i was doing some research for him and i read that the f4 comes with a concentric coil. i have been flipping through the post on this forum and read that it already comes with a dd coil. I'll ask him to see what coil he has but would also like to know the question above... thanks..

Nope, You need a Fisher F4 or F2 coil to work.

The F4 is calibrated to use the concentric and the DD wouldn't work unless calibrated for it.

11 inch DD's are available for the F2/4 and are electrically interchangeable with the concentrics for that series, no recalibration. In fact the F4 comes standard with the 11 inch DD.
